Summer Kitchen

Sigh.
I love my kitchen.
Those shiny black granite counters
are the bane of my existence.
I do think I want to paint my cabinets white
(I know, I know)
but the prospect of a black and white kitchen
with yellow accents
totally makes me giddy.

he (who shall not be named)
is having a hard time thinking this would look good.

Oh how he doesn't hang out on pinterest enough.

I made the bookwreaths from one of the many tutorials online

I grew the lovely vase fulls of goodness in my jungle of a front yard.

Just. Saying.

Welcome In | Entry Progress

More and more,
this place is looking lived in.
Not that we really use this front door.
Except when we have guests over.

Front porch plant from Fred Myer for $3.

My fave Snake Plants (from Home Depot)

The awesome boxes for $3 each at Goodwill w/ the rest of the Awesome August Finds.

You have already seen my entry way rug at this post.

And you know how long it took to make this art from b3hd Part 1, how long it took to hang them, and how insanely focused I can be on a project.  You also already saw the clock project.

This entryway is so totally coming along.
What do you think?

Snoqualmie, WA

Man I love this place.
In all seasons,
but here are the summer reasons why.

 Through the magical spot
in between the trees
there are always really great places
for her to jump on in.

She is the cutest,
wettest,
scraggliest,
mutt that I know.
Man I love that dog.

On the way out to her fave place,
we stop by the Feed Store

Which has boat parking available

and we fill up the propane tank
just in case we decide to do BBQ at home that evening.

Of course, we never do.
Instead, we stop at the Milk Barn

Where we might or might not sip tasty
old fashioned beverages
from the chairs out front

What do you love about your town this time of year?

Welcome to Snoqualmie
(or as some of you fondly know it, Twin Peaks)
Est 1889 (ish)
Pop; Almost 11,000

Funny how things work out that way.
Most of my family had good money on me being a city
(ie, NYC) girl right about now.

Who knew.

Week 36 Random Pinehurst

I actually grew Lilac this year.
It was SO beautiful on the tree
that I did not want to snip it down.

And it smelled like heaven scent.
Or at least what I imagine heaven smells like.

Around Pinehurst - September (Beachy | Pac Gal Flea)

I am so so SOOO sad
that I was too lazy
to get up and go
to the Pac Gal Flea Market
this past August.

It was a hot day.
Perfect for finding deals like
the aqua mason jars I got last year.

Sigh.
Happy back to school.

Literally.
We start back to school on September 1.
