Project 4: Marking Your Spot | In the Yard (DIY for Busy Gals)

31 minute project
if you work really fast for 11 minutes
then just wait for 20 minutes while it bakes

You'll need:

Staedtler FIMO Soft Modeling Clay (1 brick)
sharp, non-serrated knife
rolling pin
mini rubber letter stamps
non-stick baking pan

You are going to create a bunch of these:

Yes. I know that is not chives.

In pictures:

For the readers:
1. Gather your FIMO clay.  I only used 1 of the 3 bricks for 9 markers.
2. Make sure you have a sharp knife.
3.Get your craft (not your cookie) rolling pin out.

4. Find just the right sized stamps for your markers
4b. If you want, you can also grab some stamping ink to add color.
I wanted all white. All simple.

5. The FIMO brick comes in 8 slices.  General rules of thumb:
1.5 slices of FIMO per stick/marker
Roll into ball
Roll out into long oval
Slice off sides and tip.

6. Slice what? Slice the sides off in straight lines.
7. Slice the bottom "tip" off at an angle (so it goes into the dirt easier - like a spear)

8. Stamp your herb. Not too hard (don't want to punch through your clay)
9. Once you've used up your clay, place on non-stick pan and bake for 20 minutes on 250
(or whatever YOUR clay says)
let cool. Enjoy.

Never get your cilantro and chives mixed up again.
Unless, of course, you label them incorrectly.
Wheatgrass, chives...no matter.
Now that you'll be growing all sorts of stuff,
you can keep track.
