Best Gardening Invention Ever? | Miracle-Gro Expand n' Gro

***THIS IS A GREAT POST AND YOU SHOULD READ IT.
HOWEVER, I DON'T HAVE ANY MORE FREE SAMPLES. BOOOOO...I KNOW ***

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Scotts® for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Look what I spied with my weary hanging basket eye:
You know the heartache I've experienced with these baskets

And though I loved my tomato plants in upside down bags

Those bags were HEAVY to move
at the end of the season
and didn't retain water very well.
When I heard about Miracle-Gro Expand ‘n Gro™ Concentrated Planting Mix,
I asked myself if this might well be the best gardening invention ever.
I should say that I don't know.
See, I have not tried it.
Yet.
Scour my shelves as I might,
this little bag doesn't exist on my shelves.

But I CAN buy it on Amazon.
And this is one of those few times
when Amazon PRIME isn't fast enough.
Yes, and I live "in Seattle" and I'm still impatient like that.
No matter.
If this miracle worker allows me to use LESS mass
in my hanging baskets because it expands 3x with water
and it lets me water them less frequently because this magic stuff
holds
up to 50% more water versus the basic potting soil I use now
and
I don't have to fertilize 1x a wk because Expand ‘n Gro™ feeds for 6 months...
I'm in!
If I truly DO grow three times the flowers in those baskets
and three times the tomatoes on those vines
I will roll around in mud, snap a picture and post it to this blog.
Pinky swear.
And guess what?
That soil will be improved for years to come
if I use this stuff in my beds.
So what say you?

What are you growing this year?
Maybe I'll grow some watermelon this year.
Just. Saying.

  1. Wow, I have to look for this stuff - it might be just what I need for a framed planter I'm planning on making.

Garden Magic - hoping I could be so lucky as to win a sample of this.

    1. I'm on it. Working on your free sample. Apparently, it is only available off the shelf in certain parts of the country (ie, where I used to live...the southwest because water retention is impt there).

But we can all get it online at Amazon AND if you click through their links on the post, you can actually get a $3 off coupon if you live in a place where it is sold on the shelves.

Happy gardening and I'll be back with an update once when we get the samples in.
